TECHNOLOGIES AND PROCESSES
Technology
CE is installed in a 300 square meter area, with a 4,000 kg/day processing capacity.
Its one-way flow system makes sure non-sterilized items do not cross the sterilized ones.
The water used in the last rinse of the disinfecting washing machine and on steam generation goes under reverse osmosis filtering.
Every procedure carried out at CE, from reception to shipment, is recorded in a computer system. The process is recorded and the cycle report is stored in the computers, and may be printed at any time. Barcode information allows for the item to be tracked after use. Atmosfera CE's equipment safety settings and tests follow the ISPESL, TÜV, ASME, APAVE, and AIB-Vinçotte standards. Equipment items are integrated to a computer management network for the operation cycles, with preventive maintenance monitoring and self-diagnosis systems, alarm and safety systems.
Processes
Instrument decontamination area
Contaminated items for mechanical and manual cleaning process. This area is physically separated, with independent controlled air flow. This area contains the Thermal Disinfection Washer and the Ultrasonic Washer, with continuous irrigation system and temperature control, recommended for cannular instruments and catheters. Equipment items are validated according to HTM 2030 (NHS Estates) and ISO 15883 Standards.
Preparation Area
Items are prepared and properly packaged for every sterilization process. The area is equipped with a controlled air system, pressure higher than the atmospheric and lower than the arsenal area (6 mm H2O Pressure, 18-22°C Temperature, Filtered Air, 100,000 particles/m3, Relative humidity from 35-70%).
